The release of D. Gray Man Volume 29 has been officially confirmed, folks! Fans have been waiting since Volume 28 for the continuation of the battle against the Millennium Earl. Bottom line, it's been a minute.

The D.Gray-man manga's publication history includes:
- 2004: Debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump.
- Various Transfers: Experienced several transfers due to author Katsura Hoshino's health and hiatuses.
- April 2018: Moved to the quarterly magazine Jump SQ.Rise.
- October 4th, 2022: Volume 28 was released, covering chapters 237-245.
What to Expect in Volume 29
Volume 29 will include content from Chapter 246 onwards. The cover art features the previous Lavi, a character introduced in Chapter 252. (Yeah, that reveal was wild.)

An English release date hasn't been announced yet. Currently, official platforms like Viz and the Shonen Jump app only have 245 translated chapters available, while the latest chapter, 254, was released in April 2025.
Will There Be Another Anime Season?
The original D.Gray-man anime aired from 2006 to 2008, spanning 103 episodes. A sequel, D. Gray Man: Hallow, was released in 2016 by TMS Entertainment. There's been no news of a new season since then. So, will we ever see more animated action?
Given the anime's coverage of over 200 chapters and the manga's quarterly release schedule (which, let's be real, is glacial), it may take several more years before there's enough new content for another season. Production issues could also play a role in the timing of any potential future installments.
The story plunges readers into a 19th-century world threatened by the Millennium Earl (who seeks to plunge the world into darkness by recreating a cataclysmic event from centuries ago) and his army of Akuma. Standing against him is the Black Order, an organization of Exorcists wielding divine weapons called "Innocence." At the center of it all is Allen Walker, a young Exorcist with a mysterious past and a powerful Innocence residing in his left arm. Here's the thing: the stakes couldn't be higher!
